Rethinking My Minor

Why do I always do this? I make a decision, then when it comes close to being too late to change my mind, I change my mind. I am set to graduate next December, my plan is to do an internship this summer and then again in the fall, when I only have 3 classes to take. For the last 3 years, I have been anxious to graduate and get "a real job". But now that it is approaching, I'm thinking how I would like to pick up a Theatre minor, delay graduation...or even go to graduate school...

Recently, a Broadcasting alum advised me to go to Tower and volunteer to get some theatre experience. So I did, and I got involved right away designing costumes for a show, and found out that I love theatre! Brockport is lucky to have a number of very talented professors who have backgrounds in acting, producing, designing, and directing.

So, I am regretting that I did not transfer schools earlier because I may have found out sooner that a Theatre minor would suit me better than my current minor (which I never intend to use.)

I have always had a little "stalker" side in me when it comes to finding available resources on campus. It usually turns out good for me, but is probably annoying to the professors I bother. For example, in a few weeks when the show is over, I plan on hunting down theatre professors. They all seem excited to work with students, so maybe they can lead me in the right direction for pursuing my new theatre interest.

So a little advice.....If you have any doubt that your major/minor isn't really right for you, then go out and get involved, so hopefully you'll find your real interests earlier than I did : )
